Special Sessions

Conference Orientation

Wednesday 13 September , 9.30am to 10.10am
An introduction to the conference which will help to set the scene and break the ice. Find a conference buddy and learn how to get the most out of your conference. Suitable for all delegates – newbies and repeat offenders.

Professional Membership Workshop

Wednesday 13 September, 1.15pm to 1.45pm
HRINZ members who have the vision (and desire) to speed up their career development through professional recognition will find this short session particularly helpful in attaining that goal. The HRINZ accreditation process (formerly known as certification) has been greatly improved over the last few years, resulting in an easy self-assessment online process with quick application turnaround. Use this session to find out more about becoming a ‘professional member’ of HRINZ and how you can use MHRINZ or SHRINZ (specialist member) after your name and to your advantage. In this day and age we’re told “it’s all about me”, so ensure you measure up when it counts.

Breakfast – Worth Getting Out of Bed For

Friday 15 September, 8.00am to 9.00am
Hear first hand what it is like to create and run an organisation employing mainly Gen Ys from the founder of Orcon Internet, Seeby Woodhouse. Orcon is one of New Zealand’s leading internet service providers. Click here for more on this session.

Members' Forum

Thursday 14 September, 12.00 noon to 12.30pm
A chance for all HRINZ members to hear about what’s happening with the Institute, including an update on the Competency Review.

Social Activities

HR Business Leaders' Long Lunch

Wednesday 13 September, 1.00pm to 4.00pm

Welcome Reception

Wednesday 13 September, 5.30pm to 7.00pm
This opportunity provides you with the first chance to catch up with your friends and colleagues over a drink and nibbles and fill in the gaps since you last met.

Professional Members' and Mentors' Dinner

Wednesday 13 September, 7.00pm to 10.00pm
HRINZ hosts a dinner each year to recognise and acknowledge the commitment made by these members to the profession. By invitation.

Networking at the Expo

Thursday 14 September, 5.15pm to 6.00pm
Relax and unwind over a wine or two, visit the expo and share your thoughts and the day’s highlights with other delegates and members of the Wellington business community.

HRINZ Birthday Party

Thursday 14 September, 7.30pm onwards
HRINZ turns 50 years old and 21 years young in 2006 and so we’ll be celebrating two big milestones along with the usual fabulous gala dinner and dance party. This year the theme is Decade Delirium and we’re hoping delegates will come dressed in the decade they were born. Music and dancing will be matched to the decades and then we’ll really see where the generations differ…
