General Information

General Information

Venue: All activities take place in or near the Wellington Town Hall which is within a few minutes walk of the CBD and selected hotels.

Dress Code: Smart casual or business attire is the norm. Dressing in theme for the gala dinner is optional and each year more and more delegates choose to let their hair down at the dinner by taking on the theme. This year’s dinner theme allows lots of innovation and choice and will be a photographer’s dream event.

Climate: Wellington in early spring is always challenging. Most years we have beautiful weather with clear blue days and cool nights during our conference but you should come prepared for springtime extremes. Temperatures should be around 15 degrees during the day, dropping to 11 or 12 at night. Umbrellas probably won’t work too well if it’s windy.

More Conference Information: Email our event managers rachel@clockwork.co.nz with any enquiries.

Who Should Attend: Anyone working in the field of human resources, including line managers and others who have a people management role. Sessions will be pitched at a range of levels, from new entrants in HR through to mid and senior level practitioners. Primarily this conference is aimed at practitioners, but academics, students and others with an interest in human resources, the workplace, leadership and management will benefit from attending. Recruiters should also find interest in this year’s theme and content.

Session Indicators

To make your selection of concurrent sessions to attend easier, we’ve included a session indicator. We’ll be using a system to identify the content of the sessions and we have broken this down into a few key areas.

Stream: Identifies one of three different concepts – Strategy, Function, and Learning and Development.

Pitch: Shows the level of experience or knowledge the session is pitched at, ie. senior, mid or beginner level HR practitioners.

Style: This indicator will show the percentage split of content, eg 35% presentation, 15% questions and answers, 20% group work, 10% forum and 20% reporting back.
