Conference Orientation

The conference officially opens on Thursday 16 September, but increasingly
the Wednesday Fringe Day has become an incredibly well supported and
important part of the conference. We’ve decided to help delegates attending the
Fringe Day to learn the ropes and settle in quickly by having a conference
orientation and warm-up session. This session will introduce you to the conference
and to each other; it will set the scene and help you to break the ice.
Branch Time
Wednesday 9am to 10am
A chance for branch committee members to get together and share their experiences
on the value they add for HRINZ members regionally.
Professional Membership Workshop
Wednesday 10.15am to 11am
For those wanting to take their career further by becoming a certificated
(professional) member of HRINZ.
Hot Spots
Wednesday 10.15am to 11am (concurrent with the Professional Members Workshop)
Thursday 2.15pm to 3.45pm (concurrent with the Masterclasses)
Two sessions
addressing specific topics that affects our current and future standard of

A chance for all HRINZ members to learn about the latest developments as
the profession strives for greater levels of competence.
Master Classes
Thursday 2.15pm to 3.45pm
This year we’re offering three Master Classes and you’ll be pleased
to note that there are no entry restrictions on any of them. More info

Breakfast – The Value of Failure
8am to 8.50am Friday
The Value of Failure - a keynote with a difference over a full cooked and
continental brekky. A great way to start Day Three of this conference.
Panel Discussion
12.30pm to 1.30pm Friday
A panel of international stakeholders will offer a different perspective
of HR adding value in their communities.

Thursday 7.30pm onwards
Join us for
one of the best (or worst) yet. Themed ‘bad taste’ where almost
anything goes, use this opportunity and dress to kill or wear those really
bad clothes you couldn’t bear to throw out from the 70s and 80s,
or be your own ‘alter ego’, NZ Idle, etc. Pre-dinner drinks
followed by a great dinner, dancing and lots of laughs.
