New Zealand Cricket (http://www.blackcaps.co.nz) has a very proud history on the world stage since commencing test cricket in 1930. Cricket is recognised as New Zealand’s premier summer sport with over 100,000 participants and is one of the most popular sports in the world, generating huge television audiences globally.
Description of Position
The organisation has a strong vision to improve on-field and off-field performance with a mission to have more people playing and more people watching cricket while continuing to grow our revenue base. A decision has been made to establish a Support Services Office in Auckland, to ensure that we have the right structures in place to deliver on our key priorities, which includes preparation for co-hosting the 2015 Cricket World Cup. The Auckland office will include all commercial, marketing, finance, ICT, HR and supply chain/procurement functions. NZC are seeking candidates with a strong passion for sport and cricket in particular, to take on key leadership roles that will enable the organisation to provide world class support to the sport. The Head of Human Resources will report to the COO, with a focus on developing and implementing human resource strategies to enable the future success of New Zealand Cricket. Based in Auckland and supporting the High Performance Centre in Lincoln, Canterbury, you will be experienced in providing HR leadership across two sites and able to travel nationally as required. You will be an excellent communicator who is solutions focused and committed to providing best practice HR frameworks and advice. You will gain a great deal of satisfaction from developing high trust relationships across the organisation, coaching and supporting colleagues to deliver in their discipline areas.
