Description of Position
We have a brand new position available and we are seeking applications from experienced Health & Safety Advisors. In this role, you will formalise, lead and implement the Regional Facilities Auckland (RFA) Health and Safety strategy. RFA provides a regional approach to running and developing Auckland's major regional facilities. These include Auckland Art Gallery, Auckland Zoo, Aotea Centre, Viaduct Events Centre, Civic Theatre, Town Hall and Mount Smart Stadium. This is a busy and ambitious team so you will be a person who wants to perform to a high level and enjoys a varied workload. You will be the Health & Safety champion, driving the strategy to achieve 'Zero Harm'. You will strengthen the Health & Safety leadership across RFA, and create and improve engagement through employee involvement. The position will target best practice levels of safety, legislative compliance and behavioural change initiatives to achieve improved standards across the RFA group by driving the organisation's Health & Safety strategic objectives and engaging key decision makers. This position will ensure that effective policies, procedures, systems and services/programs are in place to maintain the highest level of safety awareness, accident prevention and rehabilitation across all of the RFA's operations and functions. To be considered, you will demonstrate: A tertiary qualification relevant to OH&S and/or equivalent OH&S experience A solid background in a management/safety leadership role within a large multi site business operation Experience of human factors; cultural change management and/or behavioural safety based change initiatives In depth understanding and implementation of OH&S legislation Train the Trainer qualifications would be ideal as well as formal Investigation training Ability to think strategically and innovatively Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills Excellent skills in communication; influencing; negotiating and networking Proven capability to understand and apply contemporary safety models and systems Familiarity with Accident Compensation and rehabilitation requirements Demonstrated experience in project management principles within a cross functional environment An understanding of IT software packages including safety systems database management This is a sought after opportunity, so please apply today!
