Pan Pac Forest Products Limited is a fully integrated forestry company operating a Pulpmill, Sawmill and Drymill with value adding plant and is the largest forest manager and purchaser in Hawke’s Bay. Our operations are based at Whirinaki, just 16 Km north of Napier in the sunny Hawkes Bay
Description of Position
Challenge the status quo in both Employee Relations and Health and Safety to make a real difference to the performance, safety and wellbeing and of our people.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Reporting to the General Manager - HR and is responsible for implementation of an ER strategy which focusses on coaching and assisting managers to lead our people appropriately in a unionised industrial environment. The role is also integral to championing the broader long term goals and aspirations of Health and Safety throughout the business.
Since you will be pivotal in our relationships with unions you will be commercially savvy, an excellent negotiator and effective problem solver. You will be a trusted advisor to our managers and team leaders, assisting them to build productive employment relationships with our staff.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ER management with demonstrable success in leading union negotiations
Solid experience working within a generalist HR role
A working knowledge ACC and WSMP standards
An understanding of complex unionised manufacturing environments
A tertiary qualification in human resources or related discipline
A diploma or similar level qualification in Health and Safety would be an advantage
Remuneration and Benefits
A six figure remuneration package is offered commensurate with experience. Assistance with relocation is also available if required
