Description of Position
People and Performance are a dedicated team comprised of Human Resources professionals and support staff who ensure the development and delivery of effective, integrated and innovative HR services, initiatives, systems, solutions, policies and procedures across three work streams; operational human resources, capability and organisational development and payroll. We are an active contributor and add value to organisational strategies and decisions, ensuring the alignment of people capability, culture and performance across Te Runanga Group. The overall purpose of the Senior Human Resources Advisor position is to be responsible for the provision of professional, timely and proactive advice and support to managers, staff, Papatipu Runanga and other HR practitioners on complex, multi-dimensional HR issues. This position will be expected to take a leadership role in maximising operational efficiency and staff satisfaction, whilst reflecting best HR practice.
Key Areas of Responsibility
We have a unique opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Advisor to join the team. This position will be responsible for the provision of professional, timely and proactive advice and support at all levels of the organisation on a range of complex, multi-dimensional HR issues. Behavioural Competencies
Project management expertise. Advanced relationship management and coaching skills. Experience which demonstrates application of sound judgement and problem solving, including the ability to development pragmatic solutions with successful outcomes. Demonstrated excellence in both oral and written language skills is essential.
Technical Competencies
This role will best suit a HR practitioner with significant advisory experience in a comparable HR function which demanded the provision of coaching and advice at all levels within the organisation. The successful candidate will possess: Generalist experience across all human resources areas, with specialist expertise in 2 or 3 of the following: recruitment & selection, remuneration & benefits, health & safety, organisational development, performance & development review, conflict resolution, change management, learning & development, talent management. Superior relationship building skills as well as technical expertise in employment related issues. Detailed knowledge of employment, human rights, privacy and health and safety legislation and other relevant legislation. Significant experience dealing with complex employment relations matters. Knowledge and experience with the use of advanced conflict resolution approaches, including influencing, persuading and negotiation.
Educational Qualification
A relevant tertiary qualification would be ideal but is not essential.
