The Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit membership organisation for businesses in NZ simply put, to help businesses do business better. In partnership with Goverment we have been running employment initiatives for the last 12+ years with the objective of connecting Employers and job seekers together.
Description of Position
We are looking for someone to join our Employment Division Team at the Chamber of Commerce. This role is 'Employer / Migrant Liaison' managing our website www.newkiwis.co.nz and much, much more. We are looking for a unique blend of Recruitment, website and profile / visibility management, relationship management and networking abilities second to none. The site and service is a funded initiative between MBIE and the Chambers of Commerce looking to link skilled Migrants to the Chambers of Commerce networks of businesses. The job involves working with a wide range of stakeholders in addition to Employers and Candidates and has tremendous potential. Key Areas of Responsibility
Managing the www.newkiwis.co.nz website and wider service. Liaising with Employers and skilled migrants to facilitate successful employment outcomes. Presenting to newly arrived migrants and employer groups. Constantly seeking to increase the profile and visibility of the website. Working closely with all key stakeholders, community groups and organisations working in this space including Immigration NZ, Settlement Support NZ, Auckland Regional Migrant Services, HRC, OEA and others. Behavioural Competencies
Strong relationship management – NZI, colleagues, candidates, employers, recruiters, key stake holders and both internal and external contacts and agencies. Communication skills – verbal and written - including business writing, general presentation skills (including presentation skills for workshops and advising/guiding where CVs and job search strategy are concerned). Web literacy – understanding of google analytics, data interpretation and familiarity with website and search engine optimisation terminology and mechanics. Computer literacy – MS Office and website maintenance; ability and desire to learn new related skills to ensure website functionality up-to-date and competitive within the market place. Empathy/good listening skills - particularly important with migrants, currently out of work and where English is not the first language of the candidate. Initiative – identifying gaps in services, employer recruitment trends, labour market changes affecting migrant recruitment and being able to provide potential solutions through the service Ability to motivate, enthuse and inspire jobseekers, employers and other stakeholders. Professionalism when dealing with colleagues, employers, jobseekers, key stakeholders and external agencies. Brand awareness at all times. Good administration skills for report writing, emailing, record keeping and evidential documentation etc transparent, up to date and accessible to others Self disciplined, motivated and directed able to plan and manage routine commitments around regular activities (e.g. opt-ins, survey, text/email campaigns etc) Teamwork – working within team to ensure deadlines / turn-around and targets for responsiveness is met and to ensure best possible outcome for candidate, employer and Chamber. Timeliness of information gathering/recording important to ensure most efficient use of Programme Co-ordinator and to feed EDM analysis needs. Eye for detail – contract is very administration based due to the requirements of the contract. It is important data captured accurately and in a timely manner within timeframes. Flexible / responsive – to day to day and contract demands.
Technical Competencies
MS Office Suite: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint - intermediate to advanced. Familiarity with CRM / Recruitment systems. Good understanding of Search Engine optimisation, social media and an innovative approach to sustaining and raising the profile of the website.
Educational Qualification
Experience is more valuable.

We are a not for profit organisation and salary will be commensurate with experience. There are a number of benefits to working within our organisation and I would have to say that top of the list is the satisfaction of having such meaningful work and being able to facilitate such positive changes to our candidates circumstances and futures.
