Tainui Group Holdings (TGH) is the commercial arm of Waikato-Tainui, with a guiding principle of “Leading Maaori Economic Development”, and it has significant property and development interests. Based in Hamilton, the organisation has a high regional and national profile, and has a number of exciting business initiatives ahead.
Description of Position
Reporting to the General Manager Corporate Services, the newly created HR Advisor role will provide hands-on HR advice and support for TGH and its shareholder (Waikato-Tainui
Te Kauhanganui Incorporated), covering around 80 staff across several sites.
Key Areas of Responsibility
This will require working actively with the CEOs and the executive teams of both entities to provide business related HR input. Operational delivery of recruitment and selection, induction programmes, training and development, health and safety, employment relations and performance management will be core components of the role.
Key attributes sought for the position include a proven history of delivering operational HR advice and support to senior managers and contributing to strategy. You will be an open and effective communicator, both written and orally, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to form and maintain positive relationships. Initiative, creative thinking, attention to detail, a practical approach to problem solving and a strong focus on delivering effective HR services will be critical.
