Accident Compensation Corporation
The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) administers New Zealand’s accident compensation scheme, which provides personal injury cover for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand. In return, people do not have the right to sue for personal injury, other than for exemplary damages. New Zealand’s accident compensation scheme provides 24-hour no-fault personal accident insurance cover.
ACC is a Crown entity responsible for providing accident cover, injury prevention, pay compensation, collect personal injury cover levies, prevent injuries and advise government. As an employer, you are required by law to provide your employees with a safe workplace and to pay ACC levies to cover work-related injuries.
