External Research - HRINZ Research Participation Stream

What is the HRINZ Research Stream?

HRINZ has created a dedicated research stream to assist research requests which will enable New Zealand based authors to publish original material on the development and practice of Human Resource Management in New Zealand.

This research stream allows HRINZ to manage and coordinate research requests in a fair and equitable manner and ensures that HRINZ members have access to up-to-date quality  research in matters relating to the practice of Human Resource Management and development.

HRINZ members who want to participate in research requests must elect to 'opt in' to the research stream. Currently the research stream has 830 nationally based members who have expressed a wish to participate in future HR research.

HRINZ expects all researchers accessing its research survey stream to provide HRINZ with a brief one page summary of the research findings and a full summary report, where appropriate, for HRINZ members to access.

Failure to provide a copy of the research findings may incur a penalty and future research assistance being withheld.

Please see the tables below for terms and conditions and fees.

What is the Research Stream Process?

HRINZ is a professional membership organisation of 4,000+ members and does not give third parties access to its membership database nor will it release members contact details to third parties.

The HRINZ research stream is only accessible via email or internet web based contact.

All research communications will be sent by HRINZ on the researcher's behalf to the research participation members and research surveys will only be sent out after approval has been granted by HRINZ.

HRINZ reserves the right to refuse any research request from any researcher.

Researchers must provide all the necessary information stated below for HRINZ to make a decision to approve or decline the request for assistance.

Research surveys must be provided by the researcher via an online survey link that is emailed out to HRINZ members to ensure participants anonymity. HRINZ has guaranteed all its members who have 'opted in' to the research stream that their identities and comments will remain anonymous when participating in any research survey request.

Researchers should note that the collection of any email or ip addresses for the purpose of storing, identifying or contacting participants is strictly prohibited under this research agreement.

Any questions or queries relating to the research survey will be sent to HRINZ who will contact the researcher. In these situations HRINZ will be the only party communicating with its members regarding the research survey.

HRINZ cannot guarantee the response rate of research participants.

Who can access the HRINZ Research Stream?

Academic Institutes

Research requests from universities and polytechnics (which include requests from Masters or PhD Students studying at that institute), must have full ethics approval, or its equivalent, prior to a research request being submitted to HRINZ.

Publishing a copy of your research on the HRINZ website should not affect your PBFR rating. However, if you are concerned about this, then the researcher is advised to speak to their academic professor or tutor before submitting a request to HRINZ.

Failure to provide a brief one page summary of the research findings and a full summary report will be viewed by HRINZ as a breach of this agreement. This could result in assistance being withheld for future surveys.

Not for Profit or HRINZ Endorsed Partnerships

All not-for profit organisations or HRINZ endorsed partnerships must provide a brief one page summary of the research findings and a full summary report of the research for HRINZ members to access.

Failure to provide a brief one page summary of the research findings and a full summary report will be viewed by HRINZ as a breach of this agreement. This may result in future research assistance being withheld.

Commercial Organisations

All commercial organisations must provide a brief one page summary of the research findings and a full summary report where appropriate for HRINZ members to access.
