HR Foundations is a three day programme designed for HR Practitioners who may be early on in their careers after studying and acquiring qualifications, or for those who are currently in HR roles and who want to extend their knowledge of leading edge HR practice. This programme is a helpful step for those aspiring to become Chartered members of HRNZ.

The programme is based on the HRNZ competencies and examines each practical HR area within the 'HR Delivery' competency. Participants are provided with foundational information on the major HR functions, learn to identify current good practice, and are encouraged to share their own experiences and to learn from others.

Topics covered in the three day programme include:

  • Resourcing
  • Learning and Development
  • Performance Management
  • Change Management
  • Organisational Development
  • Legal Compliance and Employment Relations
  • Remuneration and Reward
  • Cultural Awareness and Diversity Management
  • Health, Safety and Wellbeing
  • HR Measurement and Policy Development

A workbook containing information and exercises is provided. The programme is informed by current research and is frequently revised and updated.
